Most of this story is really only understood within the context of how this trip happened in the first place. I guess I will start at the very beginning.

A long time coming - Boston
Before beginning, I’ll mention that certain details in this story will be vague for anyone who isn’t already familiar with it. While I could have written up a story for everyone, this is a story for three specific people, a gift of sorts for my traveling companions. To you three, sorry this has taken so long to get sorted; let’s consider this a draft because my language skills are degrading. To everyone else, may the words you read be enjoyable anyway.

The Adventures of the Guat Squad
During my first year of college, Global Stewardship required that I do 40 hours of community service. Somehow, myself and five friends thought that it would be a good idea to go to Guatemala for a while and work with an orphanage called Casa Guatemala. We did a lot of things in order to raise money to get there, but our two biggest sources of money were from a guy named T Harv Eker who donated about $20,000 so we could build a new medical centre for the orphanage and Lennox McKneely who payed for our living expenses while at the orphanage.
An attempt at hitchhiking
The first part of this was written in September, ‘08. Additions are in [brackets] or are mentioned otherwise. And for some reason, I can't get two spaces after my periods... whatever.

Well, I'm a month out from the experience [Make that six or so months] so it's probably time to document all of it. I attempted to write everything down once or twice before, but either the words weren't coming or I felt like telling the story, not typing it. I'm scraping the "Driver Review" for this post because it feels a bit too formal. I can't really divide this experience into distinct, separate rides (even though there were distinct, separate rides, eh?). With that, let's begin:

The Concept
So kiddos, here is an important fact: no one reads blogs. Well, except for friends. Friends read blogs. And let's face it, all of our friends are already reading all of our blogs. And let's face it, they're bored. They're bored because of another important fact: people are lazy and tend not to update their blogs.
So here's a solution or at least a step in the right direction. Maybe.
Charlotte and I are starting this blog in hopes of bringing our friends together and sharing stories. If you don't have patience enough to read through all of our posts, you can filter things down a bit with the labels on the side of this page. Hopefully we'll be able to keep things organized enough between the two of us.
With all of this said, maybe, just maybe, you'll enjoy something you find here.
